Core is delighted to announce that Mia Blixt-Shehan has joined the Core staff. Mia comes to ALA with nearly seven years’ experience working in the Chicago Public Library system, most recently as a Children’s Library Associate. Mia earned her Masters of Science in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Illinois-Champaign and her Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from Northeastern Illinois University.
In her new role, Mia will provide administrative support and coordination of Core’s portfolio of continuing education activities. She will assist the Core CE staff and CE Committee members with planning, marketing, and production of Core virtual, in-person, and hybrid conferences and events. Outside of work, she’ll continue to play a ridiculous amount of board games, travel as often as she can, and inhale dystopian literature (and enjoy other less bleak genres). More than any other free-time hobby, she’s an avid music listener and musician, and she plays bass and sings in a rock band called Lemon Knife with her partner/drummer!
You can reach Mia at mblixtshehan@ala.org.
Please join us in welcoming Mia to ALA and Core!
