Program proposals for the 2024 ALA Annual Conference and Exhibition are now being accepted! The 2024 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition takes place in San Diego, California, June 27-July 2, 2024. The conference explores issues impacting libraries and their communities, with a packed five-day agenda that includes more than 200 educational programs created and curated by library professionals. The programs cover a diverse range of urgent topics facing libraries and updates on new research, innovations and advances.
There are two opportunities to submit proposals for ALA Annual Conference, education programs and poster sessions. The program proposal site is open through September 18, 2023. Poster submissions will open in November.

The Education Program Proposal Rubric and Poster Proposal Rubric are included in the call for proposals and on the submission site for your use. Carefully review the selection criteria and keep it available for reference when creating a proposal. Writing your proposal so that it clearly addresses all criteria on the rubric will make it easier to score.

- Yes, all presenters are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and registration fees. Presenters receive an exclusive registration discount.
Are there virtual presentation options?
- A Poster may be presented in person, submitted as a digital poster, or both. Education Programs should be planned as in-person presentations. ALA reserves the right to hold Annual Conference virtually, in-person, or as a hybrid of both. Presenters/Moderators should be prepared to present in all formats and consent to recording as needed.
