We want to personally invite you to Core’s divisional conference, the Core Forum on October 19 – 21. Core Forum is an opportunity to reconnect with fellow colleagues and make new connections while celebrating the interconnected library work that Core members share. It features a welcome reception on Thursday evening, keynote presentations, more than 40 concurrent sessions, exhibits, poster sessions, and social events. Presentations will cover a variety of timely topics and innovative content across six concurrent tracks: Access & Equity, Building & Operations, Leadership & Management, Metadata & Collections, Preservation, and Technology.
The Thursday of Forum, attendees have six tours and preconferences to choose from: AvramCamp: An Unconference for Women and Non-Binary Technology Library Workers; an Introduction to MarcEdit; a Leadership Institute on Cultural Humility and Change Management; a French Quarter Museums Tour; a WWII Museum Tour; and a Tour of Alternative Creative Making Environments. Thursday night will feature a welcome reception.
Friday of the Forum will open with a keynote address from Dr. Mona Saloy, Ph.D, Louisiana Poet Laureate. After the keynote, attendees will have a morning break to view exhibitor displays followed by access to a variety of program sessions exploring trending topics such as Transformative Agreements, Open Access, Preservation as a Service, Library Assessment, Demand-Driven Acquisitions, Effective Onboarding Practices, and more! Friday evening, attendees will have the option to join one of multiple dine-arounds and game / trivia night.
Saturday morning of the Forum, attendees will hear from our second keynote, Ben Jaffe, Creative Director of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, followed by more engaging sessions on hot topics like Visual Merchandising, Lessons from Disaster Research on Library Resilience, Community Engagement, Building and Managing Special Collections, and Equitable Hiring. There will also be an afternoon break with exhibitor and poster session displays!
