As the ALA division that advances the profession of librarians and information providers in central roles of buildings & operations, leadership & management, metadata & collections, and technology across all types of libraries, Core brings together one of the widest swaths of professionals serving libraries in one association. Our members from all over the library world enrich the programming and experience that is our preeminent conference, the Core Forum. So to make the opportunity more inclusive and diverse, this #GivingTuesday, we are asking you to contribute to the Core Forum Scholarship Fund to support 6 library professionals to attend the 2024 Core Forum located in Minneapolis over November 14-16, 2024.
This next year’s conference will be our fourth Core Forum. We want to thank anyone who has attended in the first three years, helping us build the event to what it has become today. We have received lots of helpful feedback from attendees, and we know that the cost of Forum can be a barrier. We hope to reduce barriers to participation by providing these six scholarships.
In case you have not had the pleasure of attending a Core Forum, or simply want to know more about the experience, please refer to the quotes from attendees of Core Forum 2023 in New Orleans included in this post. These testimonials reflect the value of this convening as a more intimate opportunity to network with a diverse and specialized group of library professionals than at most library conferences. They reflect the feedback of conference newcomers and veterans alike.
With your support, we look forward to increasing access to this professional development opportunity for those who might need financial assistance to attend. Your contributions will make Core Forum 2024 our most enriching event yet!
