Member Opportunities & Announcements
- The Core election is now open for voting and will continue through Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Learn about the candidates on the Core Elections page. All Core members in good standing as of January 31, 2025, are eligible to participate and vote in this election. Members will receive an email from ALA with information about how to vote online. The election results will be announced on Monday, April 7, 2025.
- The deadline to apply for the PR Xchange Award has been extended to March 30! Apply now!
- Applications are open for the Career LIFT Award to support skill development and networking opportunities for information professionals. The award consists of up to $1,500 the recipient may use on professional development including, but not limited to, ALA and/or Core membership dues, attending the ALA Annual Conference, the Core Forum, or continuing education. The deadline to apply for the 2025 Career LIFT Award is Wednesday, April 2. Apply or nominate someone today!
- The Core Access & Equity Leadership Team is eager to hear from membership about what kind of programming you would be interested in seeing from this section. Fill out this four-question survey to have your say in what kind of programming is offered.
- Have you volunteered with Core, or are you interested in volunteering with Core? Have you experienced barriers to participating with Core? Core is investigating offering grants/scholarships for a limited number of members (via an application process) to participate as volunteers in ALA and Core that otherwise may not be able to participate. We invite you to complete this brief online survey that will help identify the financial and time-based commitments members make as volunteers.
