3. What do you value about Core?
I value the sense of community and the opportunity to connect with professionals across different areas of librarianship. Core creates a space where members can share ideas, learn from one another, and work together to strengthen libraries and the services we provide to our communities. I also appreciate the professional development opportunities and the focus on leadership, innovation, and service.
4. How long have you been a Core member?
I am a newer member of Core and have recently become more involved as I look for opportunities to serve and contribute to the organization.
5. What drew you to and continues to attract you to the Core Community?
What drew me to Core was the welcoming and collaborative environment. I was interested in being part of a division that values leadership, professional growth, and the sharing of knowledge across library types and specialties. What continues to attract me is the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while also bringing my own perspective and experiences to the community.
6. What are you working on now that you’re excited about?
Right now, I am excited about continuing to grow professionally through leadership and service opportunities. I am also focused on projects related to student engagement, library outreach, and strengthening access to archival and research resources within academic libraries.
7. What are you currently reading/listening to/watching/making?
I enjoy reading works related to leadership, higher education, and library innovation. I also enjoy listening to podcasts and discussions focused on student success, professional development, and emerging trends in libraries and archives. Outside of work, I enjoy watching historical documentaries and creating research and outreach materials for library programs.
8. What advice can you share with others for a fulfilling and beneficial Core experience?
Get involved, ask questions, and build connections with others in the organization. Even if you are new, there is value in sharing your perspective and experiences. Taking advantage of networking opportunities, webinars, committees, and discussions can help members grow professionally and personally while building lasting relationships within the field.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Core community and look forward to continuing to learn, contribute, and serve alongside other library professionals who are passionate about advancing the profession and supporting their communities.
