Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures became a division of the American Library Association on September 1, 2020.
In the Spring of 2020, members of the former three ALA divisions, Association of Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), and Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) voted to approve the merger of the new unified division, Core.
Today, Core is the national association that advances the profession of librarians and information providers in central roles of leadership and management, collections and technical services, and technology. Our mission is to cultivate and amplify the collective expertise of library workers in core functions through community building, advocacy, and learning. Core is a new division of the American Library Association. Follow us on Twitter or Instagram.
