Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures became a division of the American Library Association on September 1, 2020.

In the Spring of 2020, members of the former three ALA divisions, Association of Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), and Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) voted to approve the merger of the new unified division, Core.

Today, Core is a thriving community of nearly 7,000 library professionals in core functions of management and leadership, technical services, and technology shaping the future of the profession by aspiring library leaders, preserving library resources, and empowering libraries through technology.

Core is a professional organization where library professionals find community, share expertise, enhancing their careers to keep libraries strong.
